Hi, I translated the Korean language. but the characters aren't shown properly. I guess the unmatched file encoding(UTF-8) that I've sent you caused this. It'll be great for Korean users that change the encoding type of lang file to ANSI for the new distribution.

It's Great!!!
But... after extracting, files in word "é" (in word "Pokémon") is not supported...
Please... in next generation, "Universal Extractor" can repair it...

I can confirm this problem. It appears that Info-ZIP unzip (which is what UniExtract uses to extract from Zip files) does not properly support unicode. There isn't really anything I can do to workaround this, as the problem is with the backend utility.

It appears, however, that 7-Zip does properly support unicode, and can unzip this particular file without any trouble. You can try installing 7-Zip and using it for unicode Zip files, or you could use the version of 7-Zip included with UniExtract to extract the files instead of unzip. It has to be done manually, though:

"c:\Program Files\Universal Extractor\bin\7z.exe" x TestArchive.zip

After a really long release cycle, the final version of Universal Extractor 1.6 is ready to go. This version improves on the core functionality of UniExtract, most notably:

  • Full Vista support
  • Individual vs. global preferences (see ChangeLog for details)
  • new Preferences GUI
  • Code execution warnings

It also, of course, includes support for additional formats, as well as the latest versions of support binaries such as 7-Zip.

I know this has been a long time coming. I hope you find it was worth the wait.
