Downloaded and have used V.1.6.1 for one week.
Program causes F-Secure Internet Security 2010 to report multiple trojan and virus warnings, I assume false positives. However, due to the nature of downloads I need to err on the side of caution and cannot afford to keep ignoring Malware Alerts when using Universal Extractor. I have uninstalled V.1.6.1 and re-installed V1.6.0 which works perfect and does not cause F-Secure Internet Security 2010 any problems.

Many antivirus applications are overaggressive about files compressed with UPX, which includes UniExtract.exe. This is a long-standing problem for which there is, unfortunately, no easy solution. As long as you downloaded the file from the link on this site, it's clean. I can't guarantee that if you used any other links.

After a nearly two year hiatus, I finally got around to updating Universal Extractor. This release focuses heavily on bug fixes, reliability improvements, and component updates, so the "new features" list is rather short. It is, however, an important update and I recommend all Universal Extractor users upgrade when they get the chance. It also includes several new and updated translations. Please check out the changelog for all the details.
